Job responsibilities
The Administrative Line Manager for Cancer Services MDT is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of administrative staff and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions. Working within the framework set by the Administrative Services Manager Cancer Services MDT and the Cancer Performance Manager, the post holder will ensure that all staff are managed effectively and in alignment with the Trust's strategic goals.
This role involves ensuring the administrative service is appropriately resourced and that its work supports the needs of the Cancer MDTs and their patients. The post holder will motivate and support the administrative workforce, fostering a patient-centred approach and promoting a culture of continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, improve patient care, and drive cost-effectiveness across the Trust.
Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining the highest standards of information security, safeguarding patient and staff confidentiality at all times. The post holder will also uphold the professional image of the Trust through their leadership and approach.
Based in the Cancer MDT Department, the Administrative Line Manager will provide business support to the Cancer Services team, managing a dedicated group of administrative staff. This includes scheduling workloads to meet service needs, supporting team meetings through effective communication, and contributing to the ongoing development and refinement of MDT administrative processes.
Collaboration with Managers within the service will be essential to ensure consistency of practice and the sharing of best practices. The post holder will act as a key link between administrative staff and senior Management, cascading information appropriately and keeping the Administrative Services Manager and senior leadership informed of relevant issues.
