Role Overview
We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well established life sciences organisation based in the Edinburgh area.
As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will join a small team of in-house engineers and carry out both planned and reactive maintenance in an efficient and timely manner in a number of buildings including offices, laboratories and other research facilities. You will also be required to carry out any maintenance and repairs to plant and equipment. Please note you will be participating in an ‘On Call’ rota with the other engineers to provide 24/7 cover to the entire park. On call fee paid plus overtime for call outs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Carrying out pre-planned electrical maintenance at various intervals on electrical plant and equipment as required.
2. Carrying out repairs to the above systems in a safe and timely manner to allow work to continue as soon as possible.
3. In-service inspections and testing of electrical equipment, including fixed
equipment to current codes of practice.
4. Periodic inspection and testing of building fixed wiring to comply with BS
7671 18th Edition as required.
5. Liaise with the ‘user’ to ensure that the work is properly scheduled and is safe to work on,
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Electrical Maintenance Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Completed electrical apprenticeship or qualification in electrical engineering is required.
2. Working within a maintenance environment, experience of repairs on heating and ventilation systems and experience in PPM maintenance would be highly advantageous.
3. Knowledge of BS 7671 18th Edition Standards and awareness of Electricity at Work Regulations and Code of Practice for Inspection of Electrical equipment
