We require 2 part-time / 1 full-time medical receptionists to join our friendly team. The successful applicants must be computer literate, have good communication skills, and be able to work under pressure.

Main Duties of the Job
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
1. Opening up/locking-up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.
2. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system.
3. Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations, ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
4. Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
5. Taking messages and passing on information.
6. Filing and retrieving paperwork.
7. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
8. Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
9. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members, and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
10. Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying, and scanning.
11. Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required; loading and emptying the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy.
About Us
We are a large busy Practice based in the Cutgate area of Rochdale. We have 8 GPs, 2 ANPs, 1 Pharmacist, 4 Practice Nurses, and a Healthcare Assistant, working alongside a large team of administration staff.
Job Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to:
1. Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
2. Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
3. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
4. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.
