Seeking a compassionate and experienced personal assistant to assist a 67-year-old gentleman with evening care in the Eastbourne area. This role involves providing support with bedtime routines and walking an assistance dog.
Duties include:
Moving and handling
Other relevant duties as required
Looking after pets
Dressing / undressing
Bathroom assistance
Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role
Knowledge of personal assistant insurance and safeguarding protocols
Ability to use a hoist and assist with mobility
Friendly and patient demeanor, with a compassionate approach to care
Assisting with bedtime routines and ensuring the individual is comfortable and safe
Providing walking assistance and supporting mobility with an assistance dog
Using a hoist for safe transfers, as the individual is a wheelchair owner
Maintaining a friendly and supportive environment
Candidate qualities
Reliable with good timekeeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Must be comfortable with pets
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
Must like dogs as I have an assistance dog that needs a 10 minute walk as part of job description
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours, Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission

4 Hours per week Evening calls: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 8:30pm - 9:30pm
