If you're passionate about helping children thrive in their education and want to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you Role Overview: As an HLTA, you’ll play a key role in delivering quality learning experiences across both the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2. Working alongside class teachers, you’ll step in to lead lessons when needed and offer targeted support to learners, helping to maintain a positive and productive classroom atmosphere. Key Responsibilities: Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the teacher, keeping pupils motivated and engaged. Provide in-class support to help pupils understand tasks and succeed in their learning. Offer focused assistance to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or Special Educational Needs (SEN). Encourage positive behaviour and support an inclusive learning environment. Work one-on-one or in small groups to support individual learning plans. Help organise classroom materials and prepare engaging learning resources. Contribute to smooth day-to-day classroom operations by supporting learning and discipline. Who We’re Looking For: Previous experience working as an HLTA in a primary school environment. A relevant Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent experience). A calm, adaptable, and proactive mindset—particularly when supporting pupils with SEN/ALN. Confidence in working with children who may have behavioural or learning challenges. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to supporting staff and pupils. A commitment to continuous professional development and a genuine love of education.
