Job overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the Mental Health Support Teams within Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. Are you a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, compassionate, and do you have a positive and flexible approach to your work? Can you adapt to changing/challenging situations? Then this may be the post for you.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced BABCP accredited CBT therapist and qualified supervisor to join our fast-paced Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) working across schools within South Staffordshire.
This role offers hybrid working where you can be based from one of our offices in South Staffordshire, including Rugeley, Stafford, Tamworth, or Burton, with a portion of the role being able to be carried out from home.
The post holder will have a caseload of children and young people (CYP) presenting with moderate mental health presentations, as well as clinically supporting and being responsible for the development and implementation of the supervision structure across the service. Supporting the service growth and ongoing development of the service is also a fundamental requirement of this post.
MHSTs are designed to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties within education settings. We are a multidisciplinary team of Children and Young People's Wellbeing Practitioners and Education Mental Health Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
* To oversee the formulation and treatment and management plans for schools, parents, children, and young people being supported by the team members - using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service; individual and group.
* Working in partnership with schools to support children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families in the self-management of presenting difficulties.
* Work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.

* To operate at all times from an inclusive values base in conjunction with the Trust's Values and behaviours.
* Accept referrals within agreed national and local protocols.
* Undertake accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
* Adhere to the service referral protocols. Under supervision, signpost unsuitable referrals to the relevant service as necessary.
* Through close case management and supervision, escalate cases where the level of need becomes beyond scope or more severe, ensuring adherence to other relevant elements of service delivery.
* Provide a range of information and support to schools for evidence-based psychological treatments, primarily guided self-help. This work may be face-to-face, by telephone, or via other media.
