THE ROLE As a Workday Project Functional Lead, you will be working in a remote model with only travel requirements for workshops in London or Europe. You will be essential in managing the full lifecycle of Workday HR & Payroll implementations, from configuration and testing to ongoing support for internal HR processes. Working closely with the Workday Project Director, you’ll oversee project plans, facilitate design workshops, and contribute to a cohesive global template. Key responsibilities include configuring Workday modules (HCM, Talent & Performance, Recruitment, and Payroll), mentoring the internal team, and ensuring clear documentation and change management. Your analytical skills will be vital in delivering streamlined workflows and supporting seamless Workday adoption across HR and Payroll functions. OPPORTUNITES You will support the Workday Project Director with the project management and assist in coordinating the full spectrum of activities associated with implementing, enhancing, and maintaining the Workday platform. You will maintain and support the details in the Project Plan. You will overlook the business & end user training needs together with the change lead. You will provide on the job training, coaching, mentoring for the internal WD support team to create, design and deliver Workday specific training materials. (job aids & videos). You will have familiarity with security matrix and Workday Security Administration. You will have understanding of the full project lifecycles and scoping to support the Workday Systems Administrator role. You will have good hands-on experience in architect & design in Workday and demonstrate the processes and functionality to stakeholders on various SKU’s (ie: HCM; Talent & Performance, Recruitment, Expenses) You will ensure design workshops are set up correctly so that SMEs know what is expected of them and any pre-reading material/training is completed and sent out to attendees. You will lead process design workshops across all HR & Payroll processes areas to capture detailed requirements in conjunction with the implementation partner. You will lead the to-be process mapping (lay out a plan of work to be completed) and review outputs in relation to Workday to ensure the process workbooks are completed against these requirements and then baselined for testing and training purposes. You will identify any local regulations or conditions which require exceptions to be made within the Global Template. You will act as ‘interpreter’ between Systems Integration functional and/or technical resources and internal HR & Payroll stakeholders. You will identify all necessary requirements around the analysis of organisational data, e.g., location, division, department. You will work with the Systems Integration Partner to understand Workday best practice processes, configuration, and any constraints to articulate these to key stakeholders during process design. You will carry out functional testing of Workday solutions. You will support defining and documenting critical test scenarios across each HR process area. You will lead testing efforts at various project stages to ensure that the application is configured according to business requirements and agreed designs and successfully integrates with other business applications. You will provide issue resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday configuration and functionality issues. You will develop business process documentation relating to all HR processes. You will support the creation of clear process documentation (i.e., Training manual) to support the consistent execution of HR processes post-go-live and ensure that all participants within each process understand roles & responsibilities and hand-offs. You will provide input to Change Management agenda, supporting the effective adoption of the solution. You will support the identification of all change management activities required to ensure that all end-users are sufficiently skilled and knowledgeable to execute all processes and transactions successfully. SKILLS You should have experience with multiple Workday HR & Payroll full implementation project lifecycles, preferably from scoping and planning through to post-go-live support. You should have detailed knowledge of and/or experience of the following HR & Payroll end-to-end business process (Core HCM, Core Compensation, Recruitment, Absence, Workday Payroll UK) You should have good hands-on experience configuring Workday and demonstrating the processes and functionality to HR & Payroll stakeholders. You should have experience supporting the HR & Payroll SMEs prior to/in and after design workshops to drive critical design decisions. You should understand the interrelationship between Core HCM, Absence and Payroll You should have helped prepare configuration & other design documents (Functional specification, Solution design document) in the past. You should have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint You should have familiarity with Workday security and role-based permissions. Care about project planning.
