Description
Cadogan Tate handle everything with care and guarantee high levels of customer service. You will be proficient in all aspects of loading and unloading vehicles, securing loads and skilful in making collections and deliveries in order that you can carry out your job to the highest standards. Skill, judgement, and the ability to multitask is essential in this role as you work collaboratively with your colleagues and follow the instructions given by the Supervisor/Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Your principal duty is to work as a Foreman following the instructions given to you by your Supervisor/Operations Manager, and to work co-operatively with your colleagues, although you may be given other work to carry out from time to time.
2. You will be responsible for overseeing the training of other colleagues.
3. In the absence of a Supervisor you will have total responsibility and be held accountable for your team and the work they carry out.
4. You will be responsible for organising your team to deal with the workload in respect of their capabilities and in response to the needs of the customer.
5. In the absence of a supervisor you will be able to identify and remedy any problems which may arise.
6. You will be proficient in all aspects of loading and unloading vehicles, securing loads and skilful in making collections and deliveries in order that you can carry out your job to the highest standards.
7. You will be expected to be able to complete all documentation relevant to a collection or delivery.

10. Proven experience of the role of a supervisor for at least two years with Cadogan Tate or 3 years with another member of the British Association of Removers (or another recognised and relevant trade association) or satisfactory proof of achievement of the required standards and skills based on formal training by Cadogan Tate or another recognised training organisation.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1. The work consists of the wrapping (inland and export), packing/unpacking, lifting and carrying of personal effects, art, and the other contents of households and commercial or institutional premises and the loading and unloading of shipping or storage containers and commercial vehicles.
2. You will be competent in organising your own and your crew’s time management.
3. You should have excellent supervisory skills and experience as a team leader and be able to develop your team and identify areas of weakness.
4. You will be expected to have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
5. You will share your knowledge and skills with your colleagues, in particular new starters and junior members of the team.
6. You will have understanding and knowledge of the resources required for the various sized moves.
7. You will have knowledge of, and adhere to, the Working Time Directive.
8. To ensure compliance with all HR Policies and procedures, and all other policies and procedures in place.
9. To adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

Learning & Development
1. The company is committed to developing the skills of all its employees through training. One of the most important elements of your role is to participate actively in the training programmes.
2. You will have attended an Induction course covering Manual Handling, Health & Safety and the Foundation Skills course to ensure that you fully understand the unique requirements of the company.
3. You should also be prepared to attend a one-day basic First Aid awareness course.
4. Performance assessments will be carried out and further training will be specified as necessary.
5. Promotion to more senior or specialised roles depends upon you undertaking further training courses and being assessed as having reached the required standards.
