We’ve created an exciting new position of Customer Insight Executive to join our Marketing team. You’ll be part of the Customer team and you’ll play a key part in helping to ensure the customer is at the heart of all planning and decision making within the Wickes business.
About our Customer Team
After the demerger of the Wickes business, Wickes looked to develop an innovative Voice of the Customer (VOC) programme, a series of interlinked initiatives designed to create a Customer-First Culture within the organisation.
The creation of a Customer-First Culture has been achieved through elevating, optimising and leveraging customer insight through three specific objectives:
1. Insight-led action: Elevating insight so that it is at the heart of all planning and decision making.
2. Insight-led continual improvement: Making sure plans are being actioned, implemented and continually optimised with the customer in mind.
3. Championing Customer Curiosity: Considering the customer in everything we do; customer curiosity and customer instinct part of every Wickes colleagues’ DNA.
We’re looking for an adaptable, curious, self-starting Insight Executive to help champion our customer culture and ensure the customer is at heart of all we do here at Wickes.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be planning, coordinating and administering research projects and ensuring we get the best data and insights out of our insight partners. This includes:
* Coordinating multiple research projects, a mixture of continuous tracking studies and adhoc research, quantitative and qualitative.
* Owning the day to day management of external agencies from proposal to completion. You’ll also analyse data in house and report and presentation writing.
* Delivering research and insights in a digestible, actionable and timely manner to relevant stakeholders.
Supporting the Business to ensure the customer is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll do this by:
* Designing and delivering regular reporting/presentations to support decision making across the business.
* Investigating and making recommendations on business questions across a wide range of topics, to help inform business strategy.
* Ensure relevant market, competitor data and customer research is communicated in a timely and appropriate manner.
* Build effective relationships with colleagues across the business to achieve business results.
* Work closely with members of the Insight team to champion our insight programmes within the business to ensure stakeholder buy-in.
* Work closely with the wider Customer team to put the customer at the heart of decision making.
You’ll also work on Competitor and Market awareness and gain a clear understanding of where Wickes sits in the market.
What we’re looking for:
Ideally you’ll be educated to degree level and have Maths & English GCSEs. You’ll have experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research preferably within a research agency or a commercial or retail function.
As well as this you’ll have:
* Experience and a strong interest in customer research and project management.
* Excellent written and communication skills, able to interpret a variety of data sources to come to a point of view.
* The ability to work independently and take an organised approach to your work with strong attention to detail.

You’ll work from our Support Centre in Watford, where our Marketing team are based, along with our other support functions.
