The Nelson Trust Women’s Centres in Swindon and Gloucester are seeking dedicated Counsellors/EMDR Therapists to join our award-winning team. Our centres provide holistic, gender-specialist support to women involved in or at risk of involvement in the criminal justice system, offering a safe, women-only space to address a wide range of needs. As a Counsellor/EMDR Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping women overcome trauma, mental health challenges, substance misuse, and more. You will provide one-on-one counselling and EMDR therapy, working within recognised theoretical frameworks such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy, and trauma-informed approaches. Collaborating closely with our multidisciplinary keyworking teams, you will support women on their recovery journeys, ensuring their safety and confidentiality at all times. We are looking for professionals with a diploma-level counselling qualification, EMDR training, and registration with BACP. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. Experience in delivering supervision and support to team members is also desirable.
