Would you like an exciting career with a high degree of development and responsibilities in an international and green company with steady growth? Then come and join us!
European Energy is a green energy company experiencing exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate wind and solar PV projects globally and are at the forefront of the emerging green hydrogen/Power-to-X sectors. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust, and Courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.
Your New Team - At a Glance
You will be joining European Energy UK Limited, consisting of 21 colleagues working principally from our office in Glasgow city centre. We are a committed and motivated team where knowledge sharing, trust, and open dialogues describe the very core of our collaboration.
As a team, we value collaboration and a sense of shared and individual responsibilities. We have a flat hierarchy, and when you are given a mandate, we trust in your abilities.
Your New Role - Make a Difference
As our new Project Origination Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new project opportunities across a range of asset classes (ground-mounted solar PV, onshore wind, battery energy storage & Hydrogen/Power-To-X). You will be principally responsible for securing new greenfield sites but will also be expected to secure opportunities for potential ready to build (RTB) site acquisitions.
You will work as part of the project origination group, supported by in-house GIS, planning, and grid colleagues, to identify and evaluate opportunities. You will lead negotiations with external stakeholders, particularly landowners where you will be the key point of contact. Working within agreed parameters, you will seek to negotiate and agree Heads of Terms in collaboration with our Projects Lawyer, and then support in the negotiation of Option and Lease Agreements, coordinating with both internal and external legal resources to ensure timely conclusion.
Within a project team, you will seek to deliver key agreements and milestones on time and on budget, to allow efficient coordination with other project activities (environmental surveys, grid connection dates, etc.). Once land agreements are signed, you will remain the landowner’s key point of contact, building on the strong relationship already established.
For projects identified where land has already been secured and development activities commenced, or partnerships involving existing pipelines, you will coordinate the internal and external team to evaluate the opportunity, and work with Directors, legal, project managers, and other specialists to manage, evaluate, and negotiate the transaction. Once secured, the project(s) will be led by one of the Development Managers following a handover period, with ongoing involvement and support from you.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in securing UK-based renewable energy projects and bring a strong network of contacts. You will be able to manage stakeholders, driving forward negotiations and successfully meeting targets.
