JOB SUMMARY
Canary Wharf Group is looking for a motivated and tenacious self-starter to join their Group Treasury function in this broad ranged Treasury Analyst role. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment, have an outstanding work ethic and have the ability to work individually on projects as well as part of a dynamic team. They will possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills and have the ability to develop and maintain beneficial relationships with clients as well as colleagues.
Work Arrangement: 4 days in office / 1 WFH
Salary: £50-60k
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform Treasury Operations daily processes, transactions, controls, Internal & External counterparty setup, KYC, Bank Mandates, Regulatory reporting validations and settlements.
Cash & Payments Management
1. Overall cash management of the Group including intercompany transfers, topping up cash pools, Debt IPDs and Treasury payments including derivative transactions.
2. Responsible for ensuring all payments are processed successfully and following when there are errors, resolving issues and completing ‘post-mortem’ on how to avoid payment error in the future.
3. Management of surplus liquidity including mitigating interest expense by paying down revolving debt, or investment of excess cash in approved investment vehicles.
4. Ability to fully document the operational process and controls for each funding structure.
5. Design and implement excel models to streamline payment processes, improve accuracy and enhance decision making.
TMS & Systems Management
1. Assist in management of all Treasury systems and banking platforms.
2. Assist with implementation of Treasury related systems improvements and upgrades.
3. Dealing with trouble-shooting requests linked online banking platforms and other systems to ensure a smooth payments process.
Compliance & Reporting
1. Support Know Your Customer (KYC) requests and documentation requirements.
2. Develop comprehensive trackers for Bank Mandates, KYC and Bank Account Management.
3. Monitor daily ops reports to ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls.
4. Assist in the preparation of treasury reporting materials.
Debt & Derivatives
1. Manage preparation of letters for quarterly interest payments within required deadlines.
2. Ensure relevant documents and setup is complete for external and internal counterparties ahead of trade execution.
3. Ensure timely trade capture in internal system, process lifecycle events (rate resets, acc’s setup, etc.) and resolve reconciliation issues.
Controls & Processes
1. Strengthen the control environment and drive change through continuous process improvements.
2. Establish and document “Best practice” procedures and ensure operations analysts are in compliance with all established policies and procedures.
3. Implement various report changes initiatives in terms of processing procedures.
4. Identify and generate ad hoc custom reports to aid in enhanced analysis of processes and procedures with the goal of streamlining efficiencies and enhanced services.
Mailbox & Documentation Support
1. Administer the Treasury mailbox, ensuring timely responses to queries.
2. Maintain and update key points of contact with external and internal counterparties.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
1. Ideally hold a Bachelor's degree with strong academic results.
2. At least 4 years+ experience within a Finance or Corporate Treasury environment.
3. Excellent Excel skills (ideally with experience with Macros/ VBA/PowerBI).
4. Experience with Treasury Management Systems as well as ERPs (Property Management/Yardi desirable).
5. Strong team-player with excellent interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills and ability to work well with internal stakeholders.
6. Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure to multiple deadlines.
7. Clear oral and written communication skills; ability to work with internal / external partners across different functions and communicate with all levels of management.
8. Creative - proven ability to think strategically, and to focus on goals and continuous process improvements.
