(f) MAIN DUTIES We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to enable this young person to access social and leisure activities in the local community. He has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD and a learning disability. The young person can experience anxiety, and this can impact upon his presentation, he also has very limited understanding of danger awareness.
Hours 6 hours per day x 2 days a week during all school holiday weeks.
Rate of pay · £13.09 per hour. ·
Holidays are 5.6 weeks per year, pro-rata. ·
Out of pocket expenses will be met by the employer, e.g. mileage to and from home and activities; and cost of activities when agreed in advance with employer. · ILG PA Employee Assistance Programme – this will be purchased by your employer after you have completed 6 weeks of employment.
Person Specification The successful applicant must: · have experience and a positive understanding of working with children and young people who have disabilities
· have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with complex needs
· be able to respond positively, confidently and sensitively to any changes in behaviour
· have a high degree of initiative
· be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised
· be flexible
· have a happy, positive, and caring nature
· respect confidentiality
Car driver preferred and must have business insurance.
