On the lookout for a brand new job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're on the lookout for new colleagues to join our amazing #TeamNLCS covering the Airdrie and Coatbridge areas! We have permanent part-time positions available ranging between 16-30 hours per week.
The Role
You'll play a HUGE part in making a difference in the lives of young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs in the Airdrie and Coatbridge area.
The person we support is moving into their own home making it an exciting time to join our team. You'll support them with daily living tasks which will involve support to appointments, shopping, meal planning, cooking, housework, finances, medication, and personal care. No two days are ever the same, and you'll find yourself getting involved in activity clubs, shopping, going to the cinema, and the pub to name a few!
About You
We recruit on values and transferable skills, so you don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualifications and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
However, for these opportunities, we will need you to bring a full manual driving license with a minimum of 1 years' experience on the roads as the people we support have their own mobility cars.
All we’ll need you to bring is:
* A caring and compassionate attitude
* The ability to work well in a team
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* The ability to cook
* Confidence in the use of computers
* A full UK driving licence
Shift Patterns
We understand that you would like to have a good work/life balance and it's incredibly important to us that you have this, so we will try to be as flexible as possible with our shift patterns. Our team currently delivers support on a variety of shifts, 7 days a week including sleepovers. Weekends and public holidays would form part of your rota in addition to the occasional sleepover on a rotational basis.
We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible, so reserve the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.
Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!
Have any questions? You can call Lorraine Cunningham on 07350446312 to find out more.
If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months outside of the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
Successful candidates will be invited forward for an interview to our office in Airdrie on the 8th May 2025.
