It's an exciting time to join goodnus! Due to ongoing growth and expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Shift Manager to support the growth of our Operations team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic warehouse environment. The Shift Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily warehouse tasks, maintaining high standards, and supporting the team to achieve operational success.
The Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the Day Warehouse Team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with company standards. This includes supporting the Fruit Team Leader in the packing of fruit boxes. Supervision of packing snack boxes, picking ambient goods, managing deliveries, ensuring cleanliness, and upholding health and safety protocols. The Shift Manager will also be willing to assist in covering other Shift Manager roles where required, including those for overnight and delivery teams, ensuring smooth operations across all shifts.
Working Hours: 08:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday with the primary focus on managing the Day Warehouse Team, may involve covering other shifts when needed including weekends.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Team Supervision & Coordination: Oversee the Day Warehouse Team, ensuring effective workflow and task completion. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, ensuring tasks are executed with accuracy and efficiency.
2. Warehouse Operations: Support the Fruit Team Leader in the packing of fruit boxes (single and mixed contents) and snack boxes is completed according to quality standards. Monitor the picking of ambient goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to process. Accept deliveries, verify the accuracy of orders, and perform quality checks on incoming goods. Oversee and assist in the put-away process, ensuring all deliveries are stored in correct locations and in line with FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation practices. Flag any issues related to quality or quantity of goods, taking appropriate actions when required.
3. Inventory Management: Conduct daily stock counts, assist in inventory checks, and support inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels. Ensure any discrepancies are addressed promptly.
4. Health, Safety, and Food Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as food safety standards. Monitor staff adherence to all relevant guidelines to minimise risk and maintain a safe working environment. Implement and maintain clean-as-you-go practices, promoting cleanliness and hygiene throughout the warehouse.
5. General Cleaning and Warehouse Maintenance: Oversee general cleaning activities in the warehouse, ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and organised. Ensure fruit and goods are rotated correctly to prevent spoilage or waste.
6. Team Support & Communication: Foster a positive working environment, motivating and guiding team members to ensure high productivity and morale. Effectively communicate with other Shift Managers and relevant teams to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operations.
7. Other Responsibilities: Assist in covering other Shift Manager roles (overnight and delivery teams) when necessary, ensuring operational continuity. Support the Warehouse & Operations Manager in implementing process improvements and ensuring operational goals are met.
Essential Requirements & Skills:
* Full UK drivers license
* Ability to work in a time-critical environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards, food safety regulations, and warehouse operations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a diverse team
* Proven Leadership and management experience at a similar level ideally within a multi temperature, FMCG environment
* Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise their workload effectively.
* Strong organisational skills attention to detail.
* Flexibility to cover other shifts as needed, including overnight and delivery teams.
* Ability to conduct stock counts and manage inventory effectively.
* Counterbalance Forklift License
* Experience in inventory and stock management.
* Knowledge of FIFO stock management system.
* Good knowledge of computerised applications such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Pay: From £32,500.00 per annum, increasing to £35,000.00 per annum upon successful completion of 6 month probationary period.
