The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Iris Finance team in our London office as a Junior Management Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to prepare financial and management information to aid commercial decision-making.
Liaising closely with key internal stakeholders, you will provide them with dedicated support on all commercial drivers at agency, department and client level. The successful candidate will be supported in studying for their CIMA/ACCA qualification.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting with preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts in line with corporate reporting deadlines including income recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and commentaries for reporting packs.
* Management at both agency and client level of balance sheet items linked to jobs; specifically WIP, accrued and deferred income, debtors, creditors and cash-flow
* Conducting WIP meetings and following up on action points
* Preparing client chargeability reports
* Reconciling credit card usage and checking staff expenses ensuring correct VAT treatment
* Support the team with tax and audit matters
* Providing system training to new starters and effectively communicating financial best practice to all staff

What we’re looking for:
* Energetic, enthusiastic and positive
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships at all levels
* Highly numerate with an excellent attention to detail
* Flexible with an ability to perform to a high standard given different demands whilst working under pressure
* Understand the importance of strong internal controls, which balance the operational needs of the business and effectively manage risk
* Strong analytical skills with the initiative to resolve issues or pursue business opportunities as they are identified
* Strong excel skills with experience of using advanced functions and pivot table.
Experience working in a Finance department and looking to start their ACCA/CIMA studies.
