Description
We are currently seeking an Area Mobile Plant Fitter to join the Midlands region. This role will require mobility between multiple Breedon quarries and concrete plants, located between Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Shropshire. A business use van will also be provided. The ideal candidate would be located within these regions and happy to commute between sites as and when required, working the occasional weekend.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate and co-ordinate the repair and maintenance of heavy earth moving equipment.
* Work autonomously on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business.
* Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work in high-pressured situations and to tight deadlines.
* Effective problem solver with strong analytical skills.
* Motivated and dynamic self-starter.
* Provide supervision of others and third parties assisting in the works being carried out.
* Assist the area management team in the programming of scheduled maintenance and repair aligned to production requirements and manage the site defect logs.
* Eliminate preventable plant breakdowns.
* Ensure cost effective and timely ordering and supply of spares and critical equipment.
* Undertake risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work.
* Liaise daily with management and plant operations team to ascertain any repair and maintenance requirements that arise or need specific prioritisation.
* Provide flexibility to undertake emergency repairs where and when these arise.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* You must have previous experience as an Area Mobile Plant Fitter in a similar role.
* You will have a flexible, proactive and ‘hands-on’ approach to work with effective communication, problem-solving and IT skills.
* You will be involved with colleagues at every level in the business and therefore you should be able to work confidently and courteously within the team and on your own initiative.
