Job summary
The NorthKirklees Enhanced Access (previously Extended Access) service has beendeveloped to provide enhanced access to pre-bookable and same day appointmentsin general practice. All 27 practices in North Kirklees will be able to offer additionalpre-bookable and same day appointments on an evening and at the weekend. Thebookable appointments will be located across 3 hubs, the locations of which areDewsbury Health Centre, Liversedge Medical Centre & Cherry Tree Surgery.
The postholder will be responsible for the efficient running of the reception area at theirdesignated hub. This includes answering and directing telephone calls, generaladministration, data entry, capturing patient experience, carrying out equipmentand drug checks and liaison with multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder willhave responsibility for opening and closing the premises. The role is dedicatedto the enhanced access service, which means working unsociable hours includingevenings, weekends and potentially Bank Holidays.

Main duties of the job
To support the smooth running of the hub duringopening
To have primary responsibility for thecoordination of the hub admin team, clinical team and providing secretarialsupport for the hub during opening hours
Ensure you and all colleagues are projecting apositive, friendly image to all patients and visitors to the hub at all times.This includes ensuring the reception team are wearing their Curo uniform, yourSupervisor uniform must be worn at all times whilst on shift to represent theorganisation
Facilitate effective communication betweenpatients, the hub team, clinical staff, secondary care, out of hours/111services and other associated healthcare agencies during operational hours
To act as first line support to the hub adminand hub clinical teams when on duty regarding any issues they may have
To help and assist all staff whilst on duty
To welcome new hub staff
Supervisors must remain on site for the totalhours as per the agreed Rotacloud shift.

Ensuring and checking that opening, closing andsecurity checks required for that hub location have been carried out accordingto processes.
Making sure appropriate documentation of Supervisorassigned checks are stored and filed for reference via Team Net.
To ensure staff are following set processes andprocedures during shift.
Assist in the communication and cascade of newinformation or service relevant changes to all relevant staff.
Ensure the telephone is answered promptly at thehub location and assist when required.
Ensure that correct processes are followed inaccordance with hub working.
Responsible for new Reception members induction
Responsible for ensuring the Supervisors taskgroup is dealt with on a daily basis
Support reception staff with the use of Team Net
Responsible for Reception members appraisal
Ensure monthly (or at any other frequency asrequired), emergency drug & equipment checks are completed and documentedon Team Net.
Ensure daily hub checks are completed anddocumented on Team Net along with anyother TeamNet tasks that are assigned to you.
Attendance at monthly Supervisors meetings
Ensure hub (and any rooms utilised during shift)are left in an appropriate state
To be the first point of contact for patientsarriving at the hub.
Processing confidential patient information topass to Clinicians.
Contacting patients with appointment times.
Keeping a watchful eye on patients waiting to beseen and in the case of worsening symptoms, alerting a relevant professional.
Alerting Emergency Services in the event of anemergency and/or gain help from within the department.
Gain an understanding of coordinating workloadto capacity.
To work autonomously, managing own workloadeffectively referring to line manager when necessary.

Participate and ensure own on-going development.
