We are a fast-paced business with plenty of opportunities for growth so if this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you JOB PURPOSE Responsible for delivering best in class planning and distribution of building products supply chain activities related to, planning, scheduling, order fulfilment, cost management, from a centralised location. This role involves strategic planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and distribution logistics across own fleet and third party contractors. This role is crucial for ensuring that products are delivered to the right locations at the right time, minimising costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction across a national scale. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement distribution strategies for the national network. Forecast demand, optimise inventory levels, plan for seasonal variances and plan for future growth or product launches. Ensure alignment with overall business goals and objectives. Distribution Network Management: Manage relationships with own fleet and third-party logistics providers or distribution partners. Monitor and analyse the performance of own fleet and distribution networks to optimise routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times. Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with sales, operations, and procurement teams to ensure product availability meets demand. Communicate with operational regional and unit managers, and sales personnel to ensure smooth operations. Resolve any supply chain related issues or delays promptly. Inventory and Stock Management: Ensure the proper stock levels are maintained across our network. Implement systems for tracking inventory and minimising waste or loss. Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage own fleet utilisation to support cost efficiencies. Identify cost saving opportunities within supply chain. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track efficiency, service levels, and cost-effectiveness. Team Management: Lead, train, and support teams within the planning and distribution team. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Ensure teams are aligned with company goals and motivated to achieve targets. Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement: Address operational issues and challenges as they arise, providing solutions in a timely manner. Continuously evaluate and improve the distribution processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Utilise technology, software tools, and data analytics to improve planning and distribution operations. Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB Key Skills: Logistics Management : Expertise in transportation, inventory control, and supply chain management. Education and Qualifications: Management experience (5 years) in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is required.
