Standard Hours (inc shift pattern): 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday
BMI UK&I have an exciting permanent opportunity for a HSE Advisor to join our team.
Role Summary
The HSE Advisor role is critical to the success in participating in new initiatives and projects at the manufacturing plant. You'll be a key part of the Plant Management team driving through agreed objectives and contributing to achieving Business Unit and Group objectives.
As the HSE Advisor, your key responsibilities will be:
1. To work in collaboration with the site management team to drive a safety first culture.
2. Providing support to department managers to fulfil all H&S obligations in line with Government and Company policies, to ensure compliance.
3. Ensuring all records are accurate and up to date, including but not limited to upkeep of risk assessments, COSHH assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Manual Handling Risk assessments.
4. Formulating a risk assessment programme across the site.
5. Undertaking health and safety accident and incident investigation and reporting including root cause analysis.
6. Conducting regular site audits and inspections, reporting non-compliance and hazardous conditions.
7. Undertaking regular company health and safety training needs analysis identifying critical gaps of capability.
8. The implementation and managing of nationally agreed systems within the Plant ensuring legal compliance across the site.
9. Maintain and report such health/safety statistics/issues/reports as are required by the company and external agencies.
Your key skills and experience will include:
1. Working knowledge of legislation and statutory compliances within the manufacturing sector.
2. Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment including experience with or use of MHE.
3. Strong communicator across various levels - both written and verbal.
4. A can do attitude with the ability to work to own initiative.
5. Stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.
6. Experience of implementing, monitoring and reviewing management systems.
