This is an opportunity to work in the busy and rewarding role of General Assistant at Dumfries Academy - 36 hours per week, 39 weeks of the year. (2 part time posts may be considered)
The General Assistant at Dumfries Academy plays a vital role in the smooth and efficient running of the school.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and resourceful individual to fulfil this challenging and exciting role. You should be adaptable, have experience of working in a busy environment and be a team player.
The role involves supporting the Home Economics department, preparing and ordering food to ensure the smooth delivery of practical cookery lessons, with a responsibility for stock and budget management. You will also provide general and clerical assistance to support the smooth running of the school.
It would be beneficial to have experience of working in a busy environment, an aptitude for PC work and the ability to build positive relationships with staff and young people.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
