About the role: The Climate Emergency team is dedicated to achieving dramatic reductions in carbon emissions in the Borough in line with the Council’s Mission to Lead the way for a net-zero borough. This role will be critical to accelerate progress. As a core team member you’ll work closely with Project and Programme Managers, the Biodiversity Lead and the Climate Community Lead. You’ll take an active role in driving positive action across the Council and the Borough. Your remit will be diverse and fast moving, supporting projects in areas such as energy efficiency and solar installations, encouraging uplifts in recycling rates, reducing flood risk and improving access to nature across the Borough. Key Responsibilities: Project delivery support: you will be responsible to inform the early design and implementation of key Climate projects and initiatives. You will be involved in all stages of project delivery, and supported to manage your own workstreams. You will create briefs and investment cases, manage procurement processes, support communications campaigns, and directly engage with residents to increase participation in projects. Some of the projects you will be involved in: Improving access to nature, working on the Wildways project next steps and other interventions supported by the Biodiversity Lead Supporting households with free energy saving upgrades to their homes through the pan-London Warm Homes local grant delivery and through our innovative Energy Upgrade Loan scheme circular economy schemes, bringing in expansive array of partners and participants through projects like the Repair Fairs Progress monitoring: You will utilise project and programme management tools to ensure processes are delivered to planned quality, time and cost. Working with the risk champion of the service, you will identify problems and risks as they arise. Managing customer expectations: You will be responsible for developing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting cross-service project delivery and collective climate action across the Borough.
