Job Description
Everlast Gyms is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team in Epsom, United Kingdom. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our fitness facility, ensuring exceptional member experiences and supporting the overall success of the gym.
* Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily gym operations and maintaining high standards of service
* Lead, motivate, and support a team of fitness professionals and front-desk staff
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, safe environment for members and staff
* Manage member enquiries, resolve complaints, and maintain positive relationships with gym members
* Assist in creating and implementing marketing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones
* Monitor and maintain gym equipment, scheduling repairs and replacements as needed
* Contribute to budgeting and financial management, including tracking expenses and revenue
* Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage during all operating hours
* Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to improve staff performance and knowledge
* Support the implementation of new programmes and initiatives to enhance member experience
Qualifications
* Proven experience in gym management or assistant management role within the fitness industry
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
* Excellent customer service skills and a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals
* Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and operational reporting
* Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in a gym environment
* Ability to create and manage staff schedules effectively
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Relevant fitness
qualifications
(e.g., personal training certification)
* First Aid and CPR certification
* Up-to-date knowledge of fitness industry trends and best practices
* Familiarity with gym equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
* Proficiency in using gym management software and MS Office suite
