At Toitū Te Whenua - Land Information New Zealand, we maintain Landonline, a world-class Property Rights system that guarantees ownership rights for land.
In your role, you would contribute to the upkeep, accuracy, and integrity of this system. The Property Rights team records survey and land title information and makes this information available to support economic activity.
Our team is also responsible for handling customer queries, which can be varied, interesting, and personally rewarding. Contributing to the Survey area would mean receiving survey datasets, containing numerical and graphical information that you would analyse to ensure they meet rules and regulations before they can become a part of the Cadastre.
Datasets range from small residential subdivisions to large land developments and multi-level apartment developments. Our survey area also works to ensure the accuracy of our spatial data, and there may be opportunities to contribute in this area for those with the right skills.
Contributing to the Titles area would mean receiving legal documents related to changing, amending, or adding information to a property title. You would analyse these to ensure they meet rules and regulations before making the relevant updates to the Land Title records.
Customer transactions could include a new mortgage on one property, through to a 100-lot subdivision or Māori Land transactions.
These roles regularly interact with stakeholders including the public, legal professionals, cadastral surveyors, our treaty settlements team, other government agencies, and the Māori Land Court.
We have a customer-centric approach and are always looking for ways to improve how we do our work.
