An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a full-time HCA working an average of 36 hours per week at Trafford General Hospital. We work on a two-week rota and have the following set shifts available.
Week 1
1. Wednesday 08:00-20:00
2. Thursday 08:00-14:00
3. Friday 14:00-20:00
4. Saturday 08:00-20:00
Week 2
1. Tuesday 14:00-20:00
2. Wednesday 08:00-20:00
3. Thursday 08:00-20:00
4. Friday 14:00-20:00
Rate of Pay: £12.60 to £14.83 per hour

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will work under the supervision of the clinical team and undertake appropriate delegated duties. They will work collaboratively with the team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures to deliver high-quality responsive care.
The primary responsibility of the HCA Navigator will be to provide an initial assessment of patients attending the service including confirmation of identity and presenting complaint, determination of appropriate clinical stream and priority. If navigated to Mastercall PCC, vital signs will be recorded including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations, oxygen saturation, blood glucose, and urinalysis as required. Patient clinical priority will be established utilising a set of tools validated for use within the service. The post holder will liaise with the senior clinician on duty to facilitate urgent clinical assessment as required.
Responsibilities
HCA Duties Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
* Support to the clinicians on duty
* A range of clinical tasks such as recording vital signs, blood sugar recording, and urinalysis as needed
* Chaperoning duties when needed
* Conduct face-to-face navigation assessment after appropriate training
* Preparation and maintenance of clinical areas including appropriate stock control
* Record tasks for which you have received appropriate training using electronic systems
* Use an appropriate warning score (e.g., NEWS2) to ensure a deteriorating patient is escalated to the appropriate senior person in a timely manner
* Provide accurate information to patients, relatives, and colleagues within the sphere of own competence
* Administer basic life support and use of AED if necessary
* Support health professionals in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being
* Assist with the collection and collation of data on health and well-being needs
* Communicate proactively with the team to ensure smooth running of the shift
* Prioritise consultations as clinically indicated within the shift
* Record appropriate consultation details on electronic patient records
* Liaise with local services such as the urgent care centre (UCC) should patients require transfer
* Follow Mastercall's policies and procedures
* Communicate effectively with patients and carers
* Communicate effectively with team members and the wider Mastercall teams

The post holder will be expected to undertake ongoing personal, clinical, and professional development in line with the responsibilities of the post. Responsible for developing and sustaining own knowledge, management, and skills (as appropriate) and maintaining a professional profile. Accountable for and maintain own competence to practice along with compliance of mandatory training.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential:
* You must have the right to work in the UK as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
* NVQ3 level 3 Health & Social care or equivalent
* Additional clinical skills training
* GCSE or other certificates of general education
* Up-to-date basic life support training
General Qualities Essential:

Experience Essential:

* IT/Keyboard skills
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Triage / Navigation
