We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse on fixed term contract to join our friendly and supportive team here at Woodlands Veterinary Centre, to work between all three sites, Midhurst, Haslemere and Liphook.
Discover a workplace that cares
We are situated in the beautiful South Downs, a stone’s throw away from the coast and London, giving the best of both worlds. We are an hour from both Heathrow and Gatwick Airport allowing for close transport links to Europe and beyond. We have recently had our kennels refurbished, having a separate dog and cat ward allowing for improved patient welfare.
Find a place to grow
Our nursing team is led by our highly experienced Head Nurse. A day in the life of a WVC nurse, other than the consuming of cakes and ice creams, which of course is compulsory, would ultimately depend on the 4 assigned areas in practice: Theatre, Kennels, Prep and Consultation. From this we keep your day varied and allow for as much clinical exposure as possible.
We have the ability to be flexible in allowing for either a 4- or 5-day week. The shifts are combined with earlies and Lates, the latest finish being 7:30pm and earliest start being 8:00am. There are no OHH duties or weekend cover other than, 8am to 2pm on a 1:8 rota for Saturday morning, thus allowing for an excellent work life balance.
We have lots of toys, to name a few: digital x-ray, dental x-ray, a multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, blood pressure, microscope, in house biochemistry and haematology blood machines, ultrasound with cardiac and an abdominal probe, laser, ECG, endoscope and tonometer.
Discover the next step in your career
We would confidently say one of our unique selling points would be our team. If you are looking to join a warm and friendly team then we would love to hear from you. We have an amazing team of Vets, Nurses, VCA's and Front of house, all working together to achieve an excellent standard of care. We have a nurturing culture, with a high emphasis for learning and development. We have several certificate holders who are always sharing their knowledge and discuss cases with the nursing team.
We encourage our nurses to pursue their passions in whatever form. We look after the residents of a local Cats Protection Adoption Centre, meaning there is not a week that goes by without a kitten cuddle.
