As a reception volunteer you will help support the front of house team at the hospice providing a friendly welcoming face and professional reception service to visitors. As a volunteer receptionist you will be that important first impression when visitors come through our doors, providing information, direction and support. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and walks of life. We value the unique perspective you bring to our team.
Experience required
The Ayrshire Hospice welcomes applications from all sections of the community. Experience is not essential for this role, but ideally you should demonstrate:
1. A knowledge and understanding of reception duties
2. Good customer service skills to ensure the best visitor experience is delivered
3. Good organisational skills, pro-active and responsible
4. A flexible approach to working as part of a team or alone
5. Adopting a thoughtful and sensitive approach to the role due to the complex nature of the surroundings
6. Be discreet, confidential and aware of data protection
7. A strong understanding of the services the hospice can offer people with a life-limiting illness.
Volunteers (aged 12-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
