Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 to join our Inpatient Stroke Team based at Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (YYF). This will be on a fixed term contract to cover a secondment. The successful candidate will support the delivery of physiotherapy for sub-acute and rehabilitation patients across the pathway. The post holder will also support the management of patients with other neurological conditions as required. Although based at YYF the post holder will occasionally be required to work on the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit at the Grange University Hospital. Main duties of the job We are looking for a forward-thinking clinician with the skills to combine specialist clinical practice with innovation. You will be committed to following best practice and speciality guidelines with the promotion of high-quality physiotherapy services. The successful post holder needs to be flexible, motivated, and committed to put the patient's strengths, voice, choice and control at the centre of any interventions. You will have demonstrable leadership qualities, excellent communication and time management skills with proven abilities to build networks across sites and disciplines. You will work alongside clinical specialists and the Clinical Lead physiotherapist to develop your skills, knowledge and experience across the four pillars of practice. The successful applicant will be actively involved in the education, supervision and mentoring of more junior staff and physiotherapy undergraduate students. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
