The Psychology in Healthcare department is undergoing a period of growth and as such we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and organised Clinical Administrator.
As a Clinical Administrator you will be responsible for providing administration and secretarial support to Clinical Psychologists and staff across Psychology in Healthcare. Working within a team of secretaries you will provide a first point of contact service to patients via telephone and email. You will also contact patients to schedule outpatient appointments at the request of clinical staff. The role also includes working as part of a team rota providing reception cover to our outpatient department at Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Advanced keyboard skills ensuring accuracy and speed are essential as you will be responsible for time sensitive entry of referral and appointment information into the patient record and departmental databases. You will work with the Service Lead to support patient flow along the referral pathway and highlight any areas of concern.
Clear knowledge and understanding of patient confidentiality is vital as you will deal with sensitive and personal information during the course of your duties. You will have clear and effective communication skills and demonstrate kindness, empathy and compassion to patients, colleagues and staff.
· Maintain a high level of speed and accuracy in processing of documents and information submitted to the department ensuring requests are processed within agreed timescales.
· Ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload to support patient care whilst adhering to agreed policies and processes.
· Act as first point of contact for the department, sometimes dealing with anxious and distressed patients and carers.
· Responsible for accurate maintenance of service databases to support Service Leads in management of waiting lists.
· Follow good practice and provide support to trainees and new members of staff.

• Working within a team of administrative staff to provide a comprehensive support service to Consultants, Medical Staff and other clinical members of their team e.g. Specialist Nurses and Therapists
• Communicates with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of the medical team
• Provide cover for Team Leader within your administration team as required
• Cover Clinical Administrator posts Trust wide as required.
