In this role you will be a First Line Manager to Firearms and Explosives Licensing Officers working within your designated Cluster. You will scrutinise all Firearms and Explosives Licensing enquiry reports submitted by those working under your supervision and make recommendations to the Cluster Inspector on applicant suitability in respect of the grant or renewal of certificates in line with legislation, statutory guidance and force procedures. You will support the National Firearms and Explosives Licensing Cluster Inspector when it is necessary to review the suitability of a certificate holder or Registered Firearms Dealer. The base location for this role is Inverness with flexibility across the mainland Highland area. This supervisory role comes with first line manager responsibilities for Police Staff and Police Officer over a large geographic area. Whilst some hybrid working can be facilitated, this needs to be balanced with visible team leadership and the ability to support the completion of firearms enquiries across the area of responsibility. Taking this into account there is a requirement of 2 days per week in the base location of the role. Hours will be worked between 08:00 - 16:00PM. Full details regarding this vacancy can be found in the attached Role Profile. Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national free of restrictions.
