Job Title: Locum Band 5 ACT Pharmacy Technician
Location: NHS Hospital, Coventry
Duration: 3-6 months (with potential extension)
Schedule: Flexible 3, 4, or 5 days per week (9am - 5pm, 30-minute lunch break)
Start Date: ASAP (March 2025)
End Date: Ongoing with possibility to extend
Rate of Pay: £18 - £21 per hour (depending on experience)

What You'll Be Doing:
In this role, you will be working within the inpatient pharmacy team of a busy NHS hospital. As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), your daily tasks will include:
1. Accuracy checking of dispensed medications to ensure they are accurate and meet safety standards before being handed over to patients.
2. Collaborating with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure medication is being prescribed and dispensed according to the patient's needs.
3. Providing support to the pharmacy team with medication orders, inventory management, and clinical queries.
4. Performing stock management and supporting the ward-based services by providing timely and accurate medication information.
5. Assisting with patient counseling and medication queries when required.
Your attention to detail will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of the medications dispensed in the inpatient department, making a positive difference to patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A valid ACT qualification (Accuracy Checking Technician).
2. Proven experience in an ACT pharmacy technician role (preferably in a hospital setting).
3. Prior hospital experience is preferred, but candidates from the community pharmacy sector are also encouraged to apply.
4. A strong commitment to patient safety and the ability to accurately check prescriptions.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
6. NHS experience is an advantage but not essential.
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
Flexible working hours: Choose between 3, 4, or 5 days per week (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
3-6 month contract with potential extension based on performance and service needs.
