We are seeking an experienced Paint Department Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our paint department at our Hoddesdon workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality paint finishes, maintaining efficiency, and supervising a team of paint technicians. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily workflow of the paint department, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met. Oversee vehicle preparation, priming, and painting to ensure high-quality finishes. Assist in colour matching and paint application when necessary. Ensure all work meets customer expectations and company standards. Monitor and maintain stock levels of paint, materials, and equipment. Train and mentor paint technicians to improve skills and performance. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the paint shop. Work closely with other departments to meet deadlines and maintain smooth operations. Conduct quality control checks to identify and address any issues before vehicles are released. Provide progress updates to management and assist in improving department efficiency. Candidate Qualifications Proven experience in a supervisory role within an automotive paint shop or body shop environment. Strong technical knowledge of vehicle painting, refinishing, and colour matching. Ability to manage and motivate a team while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong organisational and time management abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume workshop. Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to paint operations. A full UK driving license is preferred.
