We are looking for an experienced Multi-trade Operative to provide high-quality, multi-disciplinary trade skills in the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of social housing properties. This role involves carrying out a variety of tasks including plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, and general maintenance to ensure that properties meet safety and quality standards. The post holder will be expected to work efficiently and professionally in a customer-facing role, delivering excellent service to tenants while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, health and safety guidelines, and company policies. Your duties will include but not be limited to: Carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair work across multiple trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, plastering, tiling) in social housing properties to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and within specified timeframes. Provide a high level of customer service by engaging professionally with tenants, addressing their concerns, and ensuring minimal disruption during maintenance works. Communicate effectively regarding the progress of work, timelines, and any necessary follow-up actions. Ensure that all repairs meet the required standards and specifications, and that materials are used efficiently. Complete all tasks to the highest quality, minimizing the need for rework and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards Ensure all repairs that are completed are of a high standard, are compliant and adhere to delivery standards and meet all legal, H&S and regulatory standards. Plan and organise your work in an economical and effective manor, making the best use of your available time, transport and materials in accordance with specified company priority response times. Work collaboratively with other team members, contractors, and management to ensure that work is completed on time, to a high standard, and in accordance with agreed-upon service levels. To be aware of his/her responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure safe working systems and procedures are adopted at all times including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment. Key skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to plan and organise own workload in the most effective, efficient and economic way in accordance with laid down priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of procedures for responding to emergency maintenance issues Sound knowledge of building systems, regulations, and standards. Good awareness of health and safety at work including risk assessment, the need to follow safe working procedures and willing and able to wear and/or use appropriate personal protective equipment.
