Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Engineer to conduct confined sewer outfall surveys across Devon and Cornwall. This role involves working in challenging environments to inspect, maintain, and assess sewer outfall systems, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out field surveys, data collection, and reporting on the condition of sewer infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct confined space surveys of sewer outfalls using industry-standard inspection methods.
2. Operate and maintain survey equipment, including CCTV and flow monitoring devices.
3. Collect, analyze, and document survey data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
4. Work in compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly regarding confined space entry.
5. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to report findings and provide recommendations.
6. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues related to sewer outfalls.
7. Travel across Devon and Cornwall to various survey locations, sometimes requiring overnight stays.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and industry best practices.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a field-based role related to sewer surveys, drainage, or water industry.
2. Confined Space Entry Certification (Medium or High Risk) – or willingness to obtain.
3. Knowledge of sewer outfall systems, drainage networks, and environmental regulations.
4. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in physically demanding environments.
5. Strong technical skills, including familiarity with CCTV inspection systems and survey tools.
6. Full UK driving licence (essential).
7. CSCS card and NRSWA certification (desirable but not essential).
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
