Job summary We are a supportive and friendly Paediatric Integrated Therapy Service looking for a Physiotherapist to join our team. This post would suit a newly qualified physiotherapist or someone looking to specialise in children's physiotherapy. The Children's Therapy service in the North of Hampshire is based over two sites, Aldershot Centre for Health and Adelphi House in Basingstoke. The service is delivered within clinics, homes, nurseries, and schools. This role covers developmental and long term conditions such as; neurology, neuromuscular and developmental delay. This is a permanent position across North Hampshire. We work Monday to Friday. No evening or weekend working. The successful candidate will have a varied caseload of children with a variety of needs, where they will provide assessment, recommendations, and therapy to the children alongside supporting parents and education staff. You will also have opportunity to help shape our service and implement different ways of working. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their clinical knowledge and leadership skills. The Trust is committed to working as an integrated therapy team with links to other services. We will offer you support to develop into the role through, regular clinical supervision and joint working, in-service training, away days, regular management supervision linked to appraisals and identifying learning / training needs with opportunities for Continued Professional Development. Main duties of the job To provide a specialist Physiotherapy Service to children and young people on the caseload some of whom may have complex needs. To work as an autonomous practitioner, in collaboration with health, education staff, children/young people and their parents, to deliver integrated specialised packages of care to children with complex physical needs in a variety of settings such as: Homes, Schools and nurseries. To provide support and mentoring to less experience colleagues such as Physiotherapy Assistants and students. To train other healthcare professionals and staff from other agencies who work with children with physical difficulties on their specific physiotherapy needs. To formulate, evaluate and review individual specialised physiotherapy treatment plans using clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of diagnosis and a wide range of treatment skills appropriate to children and young people with physical difficulties, working at all times in partnership with parents, preschool/school staff, and the children themselves.
