Job summary The Hywel Dda University Health Board provides access to urgent primary care when daytime GP services are closed. The times of operation are 18:15-08:00, Monday to Friday and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays. The Out of Hours service is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic person to join the established team of Shift Supervisors. The role will be based at Withybush Hospital in the Out of Hours Call Centre. Previous experience is not essential as full training and mentorship will be provided. Main duties of the job As a Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Out of Hours Service, which is made up of Clinicians, Drivers, Receptionists, Call handlers and Health Care Support Workers. The role is key to promoting patient safety through monitoring of Out of Hours activity and managing cases that have been passed from the 111 service. Communication with the clinical team is essential to facilitate efficient service delivery. On call leadership is available and can be contacted to escalate areas of risk or performance issues. The post holder will ensure the safe transmission of patient information from 111 to the clinicians in the OOH Service. Post holders commit to working as part of a regular four week rolling rota. This rota incorporates a full variety of shifts throughout the Out of Hour operational time. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
