Practice Nurse - 37 hours per week (part time considered)
Three Villages Medical Practice are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Practice Nurse to join our Team for 37 hours per week.
As a member of our Nursing Team, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a defined range of nursing care to patients.
The successful applicant must be a qualified registered nurse.
Main duties of the job
ThePractice Nurse will work as part of the Practice Team to provide nursing care tothe patients in accordance with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) code ofconduct and in line with the NMC scope of professional conduct. Ideally, the candidate will have good working knowledge of diabetes and respiratory conditions.

ThreeVillages Medical Practice is a 12,000 plus patient practice. It is situatedover two floors of the Stourbridge Health and Social Care Centre and has a teamof clinical and administrative staff. This is a well established medicalpractice, respected by patients for its high standard of patient care,collaborative working, training of GP registrars, teaching of medical studentsand research.
Thepractice is open Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 6.30pm and Saturdaymorning between 8.00am and 1.00pm.
Job responsibilities
Job Summary:
ThePractice Nurse will work as part of the Practice Team to provide nursing care tothe patients in accordance with NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) code ofconduct and in line with the NMC scope of professional conduct.
Duties andResponsibilities:
* Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care asdirected by Nurse Lead and GPs
* Cytology
* Wound care and ulcer care
* Removal of sutures
* ECG’s
* Venepuncture
* Ear syringing
* Childhood immunisations
* Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
* Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
* LTC management including Diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease,Hypertension, Asthma, CVA, COPD
* Delivery of specialist treatment injections eg Prostap, Zoladex andVitamin B12
* Ordering of vaccinations to maintain stock levels
* Ability to deliver COVID Vaccinations
* On occasions there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
* Following agreed clinical protocols with referral from GPs asappropriate
* Awareness of infection control and requirement to take part ininfection control audit
* Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are beingexamined by another clinician
* Participation in administration systems in the Practice (Emis,PCSE, Tquest, Docman)
* At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
* A duty to advise Nurse Lead/GPs of potential problems or errors withina range of assigned tasks
* Attend and participate in any Nurse and Practice meetings whenrequired
* Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post

Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse Qualification
* Current Nursing and Midwifery Council Registration, keeping it up to date and have an active recognised professional qualification
* Diploma in Chronic Disease Management
* Up-to-date training in childhood immunisations
* Cervical cytology qualifications
Experience
* Two years experience of working within a general practice or in the community
* Able to demonstrate high level of personal and professional accountability and autonomy
* Experience of managing clinics in a primary care setting
* Experience of developing effective working relationships
* Experience in the development of general practice services
* Experience with clinical risk management
