ChaplaincyPlus is seeking to appoint a committed and passionate individual with appropriate skills and experience to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer.
We are keen to hear from committed Christians, with a heart and desire for living out faith in the workplace and helping and supporting others to do the same.
We are seeking someone with accountancy experience, preferably in a Not-for-Profit organisation, to join our Board of Trustees as Treasurer.
The successful applicant will ideally be:
1. a part-qualified/fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or someone with a similar level of experience.
2. have previous leadership experience and excellent communication skills, with experience of presenting financial information to a broadly non-finance audience.
3. “hands on” and able to switch between working at a detailed level and thinking strategically, as this role involves vision-casting as well as managing the accounts and carrying out day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
4. experience working with MS packages, particularly Excel. (Experience using Xero would be a bonus but not a pre-requisite.)
Trustees play an active role in governing the charity, setting vision, strategic priorities, and ensuring the charity complies with legal, charitable, and financial requirements. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to how faith is lived out in the workplaces of the city.
The Board meets 8-10 times a year and Trustees are expected to support and attend any additional events for the Network. Following an initial conversation, the ‘ChaplaincyPlus Trustees Handbook’ and ‘ChaplaincyPlus Memorandum and Articles of Association’ can be made available.
ChaplaincyPlus is a Christian Charity, and all the Trustees must promote and safeguard the charitable purposes for which ChaplaincyPlus exists. These purposes are ‘the advancement of the Christian faith and the promotion of Christian principles and teaching in all aspects of human relationships.’ It is therefore essential that all Board Members are active and practising Christians and are ideally in good fellowship with their own church.
If interested, please contact our Chair of Trustees for an initial discussion.
