BSRIA provides a nationwide service for compliance across the UK with airtightness (Part L or Section 6), sound insulation (Part E or Section 5), and ventilation (Part F) testing and consultancy. Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will be to prepare and conduct tests on new and existing buildings, at client sites, using specialist equipment and reporting software in order to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations requirements.
Exciting work you will be doing:
* Conducting the following testing:
1. Airtightness tests in accordance with Building Regulations Part L, Section 6 of Scottish Building Standards, Passivhaus and client specified standards
2. Ventilation performance tests in accordance with Building Regulations Part F and similar
3. Heat transfer coefficient testing
4. Related advisory services as required
5. Liaising with, and presentation of findings to clients and site management
6. Fault detection, results analysis and producing findings in accordance with the Company and regulatory reporting procedures
7. Conduct routine checks of the equipment and vehicle to ensure that they are in good working condition and reporting any faults/repair requirements as necessary.
8. Operate in adherence with the Corporate, Client and competent persons schemes standards, policies, and procedures
9. Completion of administrative duties to required timescales
10. Other duties commensurate with the role
Due to customer requirements, the services we provide can occur outside of daily commuting distance and may require overnight stays, evenings or weekends, early or late finishes, and are subject to change at short notice.
Minimum Requirements:
* Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant test standards
* Clean driving license
* Sound understanding of Health & Safety Regulations
* Excellent diagnostic skills (investigative, problem identification and solution)
* Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills
* Confident and assertive communicator with ability to positively influence, persuade and build rapport
* Ability to work unsupervised, collaborative team player with dynamic and flexible approach
* Commercial acumen
* Analytical mindset with ability to understand, interpret and apply regulations, standards and procedures
* Customer focus with the aim to deliver excellent service
* Problem solving and decision-making skills
* Computer literate
* Commitment to maintenance of technical knowledge of regulations and standards
* CSCS card, or equivalent (Desirable)
Qualification(s) Required:
A University level degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. Candidates with experience or relevant job titles such as Quality Development Engineer, QA, Product Quality Engineer, Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance Engineer, QA Engineer, Continuous Improvement, Quality Engineering, Quality Performance Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Tester, Quality Management System Auditor, or QMS may also be considered for this role.
