Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with a passion for supporting young people facing challenges in education? We are recruiting for dedicated professionals to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bradford, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
The Role:
Working in a PRU requires resilience, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students who may display challenging behaviours. Your role will be to support students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, many of whom have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The right candidate will have experience managing behaviour and fostering engagement in education through tailored interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing one-to-one and group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a structured environment.
* Assisting with academic tasks and helping students re-engage with learning.
* Supporting students’ emotional well-being and personal development.
* Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create personalised support plans.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working in a PRU or with students who have SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
* Team Teach or other behaviour management training is desirable.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
