An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Medical Secretary to join the team within Cellular Pathology at St. Mary's Hospital on the Isle of Wight.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced secretary with skills and knowledge covering a wide range of administrative systems.
The role involves audio and copy typing of complex pathology reports requiring a high level of familiarity with medical terminology.
You will be able to provide a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service to the Consultants and Managers within the Cellular Pathology Department, enabling them to optimise reporting commitments, and therefore facilitating the Trust in the achievement of its objectives and targets.
It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative and judgement using acquired skill and knowledge whilst always maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications and Role Specific Knowledge
* RSA level 3 typing or relevant proven experience.
* AMSPAR medical secretarial qualification or equivalent.
* Secretarial experience
* Relevant audio typing experience
* Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of Windows Packages, including Word
* NVQ customer care.
* ECDL.
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Medical secretarial experience
