We’re seeking a Lead Product Engineer with a strong background in electronics for our client in the Norwich area. This position will join a company known for delivering innovative, high-reliability solutions across critical industries. About the Role:
As the Lead Product Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of electronic products and projects, driving design, development, and continuous improvement. You’ll play a key role in supporting new product introductions, managing existing product updates, and collaborating closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the Engineering Lead for specific products and projects, taking full technical ownership.
* Engage with customers throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring technical requirements are met.
* Conduct robust root cause analysis for product failures and implement corrective actions.
* Manage design changes and resolve obsolescence issues effectively.
* Participate in Design FMEA to identify and mitigate risks early in the design process.
* Ensure all product documentation aligns with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Support engineering management in process improvements and best practices.
* Contribute to the development of new products, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., DFM, MIL-PRF-38534)
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience: Strong background in electronics engineering with expertise in microelectronics design and development.
* Ability to drive project deadlines and manage communications with customers where required
* Practical knowledge of microelectronics assembly techniques.
* Experience in high-reliability sectors such as aerospace, defence, or similar industries.
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* High attention to detail with a methodical, structured approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Comfortable working in dynamic environments with changing priorities.
