The Role: The Head of Conveyancing will be responsible for leading and managing the conveyancing department, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves overseeing all residential property transactions, driving business development, and managing a team of solicitors and support staff to achieve departmental goals. Principal Accountabilities: Department Leadership: Define and implement the strategic vision for the conveyancing department, ensuring alignment with the firm’s broader objectives. Case Management: Oversee the handling of residential conveyancing matters, ensuring efficiency and quality control. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all conveyancing transactions comply with legal, regulatory, and professional standards, mitigating potential risks. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert legal advice and ensuring a high level of service. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor, train, and supervise solicitors, conveyancers, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Business Development: Identify and implement strategies to attract new clients and grow the department’s revenue. Operational Efficiency: Develop and refine processes to improve efficiency and ensure seamless conveyancing transactions. About You: Extensive experience in residential conveyancing, with a proven track record of handling complex transactions. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing legal professionals. In-depth knowledge of conveyancing regulations, risk management, and compliance requirements. Excellent client relationship and business development skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage high caseloads while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
