ABOUT THE ROLE To support the JLP commercial vehicle fleet by managing the repair, maintenance and spare vehicle provision in line with the Central Transport maintenance strategy. To ensure the efficient management of an in-house and 3rd party national repair network. To make decisions on the best and most cost effective route for repairs whilst ensuring SLA and operator’s licence adherence and compliance.. At a glance Salary range - For this role the salary starts from £29,500 to £39,400 per annum, depending on skills and experience Contract type - This is a permanent role Work Pattern - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday: 08:00-17:00 Location - Magna Park (NDC) About the role Call handling, taking responsibility for repairs and vehicle related issues from Branches Cost control, issuing order numbers and negotiating repair costs from external suppliers Controlling all repairs relating to maintenance, defect, accident repair, tyres, windscreens etc Directing repairs to the most appropriate supplier, maximising the use of in-house workshops Monitoring the performance of all suppliers (including in-house workshops) to benchmark costs and service levels Maximising warranty claims and credits Supplier management and application of penalty clauses To ensure that the vehicle fleet adheres to the scheduled maintenance, MOT, service, safety inspection and refrigeration regime Branch support with additional tasks such invoicing and communicating with third party suppliers Measuring and minimising vehicle downtime Working with an underlying knowledge of the Commercial Vehicle Operator Licence requirements You also can view a copy of the full job outline here: External applicants- please view the attached job outline Internal applicants- please use the link below Essential Qualifications and Experience skills you’ll need Working knowledge of Excel, Google sheets and Word Knowledge and understanding of basic vehicle maintenance Sufficient motor trade experience Experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders in both verbal and written form. Desirable skills NVQ 3 or equivalent experience in vehicle maintenance Knowledge and understanding of vehicle refrigeration Understanding of accident damage repairs and reporting systems Knowledge and understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance (‘O’ licence vehicles scheduling and repair) Next Steps The application form consists of a CV upload followed by application questions.
