Responsible for Criminal Justice Social Work Services you will play a key role in our team as we progress our ambitious programme of work, supporting ‘ We Aspire’, the Plan for North Lanarkshire, to transform our services and improve outcomes for all in our communities The Senior Education and Families Manager (Social Work) will have responsibility for the leadership and operational management of criminal justice social work services and for designated integrated functions. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team for Education and Families you will also have a key role in developing and supporting integrated practice within the Education and Families service and in working with corporate and external partners including taking a lead role within strategic partnerships. In addition you will have responsibility for a range of strategic and operational functions relating to continuous improvement, quality assurance and leadership development. We are looking for someone who is committed to transforming models of service and strengthening practice to deliver improved outcomes with key priorities focussing on the national and local vision for justice services and the delivery of the Plan for North Lanarkshire to improve the health and wellbeing of our communities, support people to realise their full potential, enhance economic opportunities and outcomes and the promotion of participation, capacity and empowerment. Reporting to the Chief Social Work Officer, Education, Families, Justice & Integrated Practice you ensure appropriate professional practice and staff governance arrangements and will require to work closely with both children’s and adult social work colleagues in these areas and in key areas of service planning and practice development. A professional qualification in Social Work with substantial management experience within Social Work or other relevant discipline at a senior level, a proven track record in the leadership and development of modern services and knowledge of the current Social Work agenda, and statutory framework are essential. A relevant Post Graduate or Management qualification and experience of managing Social Work Services within a Local Authority are desirable. The successful candidate will be subject to Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at Level 2 prior to commencing in this role. You will also require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role be and be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
