As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble textile components according to specifications. The emphasis of your work will be on making very high quality finishes whilst being functional for the end user. Job title: Sewing Machinist Location: Pershore Essential requirement for this job: Industrial sewing machine experience Working hours: 36 hour working week, day shift, finishing at midday Fridays. Pay rate: £11.44 to £12.21 per hour Benefits: Competitive salary, good holiday allowance all bank holidays, 3% employers pension contribution plus 1% tax relief, free on-site parking. Contract type: permanent Commutable from: Evesham, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Alcester and surrounding areas Your key responsibilities as our new Sewing Machinist will be • Machine Operation: Set up and operate industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble textile components according to specifications (cotton blends, Polynet, fleeces etc). If you have experience of using Mitsubishi, Juki, Brother or similar branded machines we would love to hear from you. • Quality Control: Inspect work for defects and ensure finished products meet quality standards. • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues with sewing machines and equipment. • Team Collaboration: Work with production and design teams to ensure smooth work flow and address any issues. • Health and Safety: Follow health and safety guidelines when operating machines and handling materials. • Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of experience as a textile machinist, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. • Skills: Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other textile-related equipment, familiarity with various types of fabrics, textiles, and cutting techniques.
