Financial Controller - Colchester - £55,000 - 65,000
Are you a hands-on finance professional seeking a leadership role in an SME? Reporting to the CFO, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day finances of the business, playing a key role in financial operations and strategic decision-making.
You will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
2. Managing budgets and cash flow forecasts
3. Analysing operational costs to improve efficiency
4. Overseeing accounts payable and receivable
5. Managing payroll, VAT returns, and tax compliance
6. Providing expert financial advice and support for business expansion decisions
7. Optimising internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance
8. Leveraging financial software to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy
Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a similar role, preferably within an SME environment. Experience with financial software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be an advantage.
