As part of an ambitious plan to extend our cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) Medical Education impact we are expanding the Boehringer-Ingelheim CRM Medical Educator team with two additional posts available. We are looking to bring on board high calibre clinical experts into our Boehringer-Ingelheim medical team to deliver high quality cardio-renal-metabolic education to our NHS partners. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team committed to improving care for people living with cardio-renal-metabolic conditions, through high quality in person and virtually delivered education.
The candidate must work very closely with a wide variety of NHS healthcare professionals across a variety of healthcare settings enhancing understanding of the strategies available to urgently address the challenges associated with interconnected cardio-renal-metabolic conditions. Collaboration with our cross functional colleagues is crucial to ensure our education reaches our NHS partners in our prioritised healthcare systems.
The post holder must have extensive clinical experience in managing metabolic conditions, especially type 2 diabetes.

Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Medical Educators (CRM MEs) primary responsibilities are to work in collaboration with UK healthcare providers and influencing stakeholders. Partnering to co-create and deliver high quality structured medical education and training activities to any multidisciplinary, or multispecialty team managing patients with complex morbidities associated with CRM conditions across Primary and Secondary care. The role is focused upon training and educating to facilitate improved understanding of key clinical elements associated with the management of CRM conditions, and hence to improve patient care.
CRM MEs will possess specialist practitioner skills, complementing these with extensive therapy area knowledge to bring credible and informative education activities to groups of healthcare professionals. For these posts it is essential the post-holder has expertise in managing patients with type-2 diabetes.
Through high quality education & collaboration, the CRM MEs will enhance the reputation of Boehringer-Ingeheim in providing high quality medical education that supports healthcare professionals in improving patient care. In performing the role, CRM MEs will also be required to facilitate sustained change in evidence based clinical practice through incorporating quality improvement process within education programmes.
Responsibilities:
Act as Medical Education subject matter expert, designing and deploying local Medical Education initiatives in response to local healthcare system, healthcare professional and patient needs.
Be responsible for creating exceptional educational customer experiences with an aim to improve patient care through safe and effective clinical practice.
Ensure data is presented in an accurate, fair, and balanced manner that facilitates knowledge translation and improvements in clinical practice in line with the clinical evidence.
Appraise available resources from which Medical Education materials can be developed. Identify key content relevant to patient care that would enhance HCP expertise in preparation for development into materials.
Develop, evaluate, evolve, and measure the impact of medical education solutions adapting as needed based on customer feedback and results.
Take the initiative to lead / develop key medical education activities and programs working closely with medical team and brand team, in tandem with customer feedback.
Identify customer needs requiring disease and therapy area related educational support and ensure that healthcare providers have information relevant to their needs.
Provide medical interpretation of current and emerging products and clinical trial data to external customers upon their request and to ensure that external customers have information relevant to their needs.
Be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders including key Thought Leaders, key Educational Leaders/Speakers, and sustain the collaborative relationships to ensure CRM ME's are recognized by HCPs as valuable education partners in improving patient care.
Develop and foster high quality cross functional relationships with Boehringer-Ingelheim colleagues, both within Medical Affairs and especially outside this team, with local promotional teams to ensure effective development and deployment of educational programmes in line with key account plans.
Contribute to the medical expertise of the Medical Affairs team and cross functional colleagues by providing structured and unstructured insights through specified channels. Key learnings regarding healthcare system challenges, competitor perspectives or medical issues in relation to the management of CRM conditions should be routinely captured.
CRM educators are expected to plan and deliver education that brings a comprehensive CRM learning journey to the audience. A specific focus on ensuring sustained change in clinical practice is required.
To operate compliantly with all relevant policies, operating procedures, laws and regulations pertaining to Boehringer-Ingelheim UK. All activities to be delivered concordant with the IPHA code and ABPI Code of Practice where applicable.
The ability to travel is a requirement of the job. A blend of virtual working is possible in tandem with activities requiring travel.
South based role will predominantly but not exclusively work with NHS stakeholders between Birmingham and London/South East region.
North based role will predominantly but not exclusively work with NHS stakeholders across M62 corridor and include South Yorkshire up to North East England.
