This is an entry-level role, suited to those who or are due to graduate university in 2025 or have already graduated. Our Graduate Development Programme is a two-year learning programme with an additional year required to complete a qualification in Chartered Accountancy. You will therefore be supported by Cala to work towards this qualification through the Institute of Chartered Accountants for Scotland (ICAS). You are a permanent employee from day one and will have a real opportunity to make an impact at Cala through executive sponsored projects as well as completing two varying discipline rotations across the wider business. The programme includes: A three-day formal induction in Edinburgh Classroom and virtual sessions covering key stages in the construction lifecycle, and key business skills such as commercial awareness and influencing Interactive group projects working with a number of other graduates in disciplines across the business allowing you to build a strong network Networking opportunities with senior managers and peers One-to-one support from line managers, mentors, recent graduates, and industry professionals Alongside programme activity, you will receive on-the-job training and you will play an integral role within the Finance team in our Head Office in Edinburgh supporting a combination of office and regional businesses. Supporting the Finance Team, your key responsibilities will therefore be as follows: Supporting Cala Group: Year-End Reporting, including production of various Statutory Accounts within Cala Group Preparation and posting of Monthly intercompany interest journals Monthly checks and approval of Cala Management VAT Return Maintenance of regional employee salary site allocations Yearly preparation and posting of group-wide recharges Other ad-hoc reporting and MI Supporting the Regions: Check and approve regional monthly reconciliations and controls, weekly cashflow reports and supplier payment runs Production of monthly regional management accounts including journal posting, salaries, accruals, cost of sales, cashflow and overheads Maintenance of fixed asset register Provide and present a range of financial information and analysis to internal customers, providing support where necessary to assist them with their finance Support the Finance Manager/ Director and provide ad-hoc financial information and reports as required About You We are seeking a new team member who is confident and has the passion and drive to succeed at the highest level. You will have achieved, or be on track to achieve, a Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or above in a related field (e.g. Accounting & Finance, Business etc).
