The role of Installation Technician is to support clients and our field-based employees with product installations, repairs, audits, training and other technical duties. The role requires significant traveling to customer homes and office buildings to build equipment or troubleshoot or fix existing problems with existing products.
A successful Installation Technician should have sound mechanical and product knowledge (which we will teach you) and be able to work in small office spaces and drive in a van for extended periods of time. They must have exceptional communication skills, a passion for customer service and quick problem solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the safe delivery and assembly of products
2. Carry out onsite product repairs specifically within seating and electric desking
3. To ensure that all installations and repairs are carried out to Posturite standards and customers satisfaction
4. Oversee the installation of bulk seating orders
5. Conduct Posturite seating audits for specific companies
6. Communicate regularly with the Office, Field and Management teams, building excellent internal relationships
7. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key suppliers including RH and HAG
8. Ensure diary is managed effectively at all times, keeping it up to date
9. Frequently check and respond to all mediums of communication including voicemail, email and calendar entries, making prompt changes to meet client needs at short notice.
10. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork and forms, within the agreed timescales
11. Keep company vehicle clean and tidy
12. Support the Marketing Team with the delivery and collection of exhibition equipment
13. Provide timed deliveries for specific clients during out of office hours where required
14. Mentor new members of staff in line with the company induction program
15. Deliver training to field staff and clients as and when required
16. Identify and pass on sales opportunities to the appropriate member of field staff
What you'll bring:
1. Proven product or equipment Installation Experience
2. Proven Driving Experience
3. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships
4. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change of planned activities at short notice
5. Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods
6. Ability to lift heavy objects
7. Ability to solve problems and work well under pressure without supervision
8. Ability to use own initiative
9. Understand and logically follow diagrams and manuals
10. Sound knowledge of appropriate lifting techniques
11. Basic IT skills
12. Possess a clean driving licence and enjoy driving
